![]() Exchange and Line Plant RecordsThis page shows the main record cards that were used at the Dean Forest railway to maintain records of circuit and pair usage. All records have now been converted to Excel spreadsheets so that they may more easily be disseminated around the various working groups of the railway. (Click here to see a typical DP spreadsheet) This A737 card is used to keep a record of the jumpers on the IDF which connect the customer number to the allocated line circuit. This card is in customer number order. ![]() This A736 card is used to keep a record of the jumpers on the IDF which connect the customer number to the allocated line circuit. This card is in line circuit order. ![]() This A606 card is used to keep a record of the jumpers on the MDF which connect the customer number to the allocated line pair. This card is in customer number order. ![]() This card is used to keep a record of the jumpers on the DP which connect the E side pair from the exchange to the D side pair continuing on to the next DP, or to the telephone wired directly to that DP. ![]() Where a long cable runs alongside the railway and the connections between sections are made in cabinets with terminations, each DP is generally much like the next. To simplify the records, several DPs are placed together on one card allowing the circuit allocations to be viewed more easily. This approach has been used along most of the railway once the cables are clear of the station areas. ![]() Show Page as a PDF (141Kb 3 Pages)
